Kauri Lodge isn’t just everything you need, it’s everything you could want. We offer all the comforts of a happy home along with anything you may need from our friendly, competent staff. We’re a community as well as a facility.
Independently owned and operated, Kauri Lodge is proud that it’s not simply part of a corporate chain. We are one of a kind, and we are family to each other. We have four mother-daughter combinations working here and one uncle-nephew pairing. Many of our staff have been here for 20 years and are part of the home’s history.

Should you choose to join our family here at the lodge, you’ll be free to enjoy life at your own pace. We have a very energetic activities person who is on site from Monday to Friday, and residents can participate in the entertainment and outings she arranges. We even have craft fairs where we sell handmade items to the public as well as family and friends, and the proceeds go towards charity or providing funds for bigger excursions like a rail trip to Arthur’s Pass.
Residents are free to attend their own activities in the community and have easy access to Westfield Riccarton Mall, bank branches, bus stops, book shops, restaurants, and much more. You can grab dinner and a movie in a five-minute walk. You can shop for presents for the grandkids at the Kmart. Or if you prefer trees to buildings, Riccarton Bush is just a stroll away. You can take a picnic and just enjoy the birds in a lovely green space.
